3D Rendering Agency

3D Product Rendering Services

Product rendering is the production of photoreal images of a product from its 3D model or CAD file, and we make white-background, lifestyle, detail and 360 images for ecommerce brands, manufacturers and industrial designers. Images are priced per image, from $179 on white and $349 for a lifestyle scene, with the first draft in 3 to 5 business days; product rendering is one of our 3D rendering services.

What do you get with our 3D product rendering service?

A product rendering order delivers a set of photoreal images of one product: white-background packshots, detail close-ups, lifestyle scenes and, if you need them, a 360 spin or a short animation. Our 3D product rendering builds one accurate model of the product and renders every image from it, so the packshot, the close-up and the lifestyle scene show exactly the same object. Our 3D product visualization services cover stills, motion and AR from that one model, and the 3D product images arrive sized for your store, ads and print.

Product renders from our studio

The eight product renders below cover electronics, furniture, cosmetics, jewelry, packaging, tools, sporting goods and a kitchen appliance, and each caption gives the category and the image type. They are concept work: our team made them to show range, and none of them is a client project. As a 3D product rendering studio run by architects and interior designers, we bring the same discipline to a serum bottle that we bring to a kitchen: true scale, real materials and light that has a source.

Who orders 3D product rendering?

Ecommerce brands, Amazon sellers, manufacturers, industrial designers and agencies order product renders when the product is not yet made, comes in many variants, or costs more to ship and shoot than to render. Buyers comparing 3D product rendering companies usually want three things: color that matches the real product, images that stay consistent across the whole catalog, and a fixed price before work starts. We work as a product visualization company for brands across the United States, remotely, from the files you send.

Furniture brands have a page of their own on furniture rendering, priced at $179 per piece.

How does 3D product rendering compare with product photography cost?

3D product rendering costs more per image than photographing a product you already have, and it becomes the cheaper route when the product is not yet manufactured, needs a lifestyle set that would mean a location shoot, or will change after the shoot. Published product photography prices show the gap: Squareshot lists white or gray background product images at $50 each with a $300 shoot minimum and lifestyle images from $95, and Soona lists $39 per photo. Our white-background render is $179 and our lifestyle render $349.

The prices assume different things. A photo needs a finished sample in the studio and a new shoot for every change. 3D product photography, as some brands call rendering, needs only the CAD file, and a change is made on the model. Others call it 3D virtual product photography: the camera, the lights and the set exist only in software. The table sets our prices beside published product photography pricing, factor by factor.

How much does 3D product rendering cost?

3D product rendering costs $179 per white-background image and $349 per lifestyle scene, and every order is priced in a fixed quote within 12 hours of us receiving your files. Each 3D product render in one order counts toward the volume discount: 10% off from 5 images, 15% from 10 and 20% from 20.

A worked example: four white-background images and two lifestyle scenes come to $716 plus $698, or $1,414. Six images earn 10% off, so the order is $1,272.60. Because it is over $1,000, you pay $636.30 to start and $636.30 before the final files are delivered. Rush delivery in 48 hours costs 35% more, subject to capacity.

How long does 3D product rendering take?

A first set of product images arrives in 3 to 5 business days, and a product animation in 2 to 3 weeks. The delivery date is written into your fixed quote.

Can you render from CAD or a prototype?

We render directly from CAD files, and for products without CAD we build a 3D model from photos and measurements of the prototype. A 3D prototype that exists only as a print or a hand-made sample is enough: photos from six sides and its dimensions let us model it at true scale. 3D product design rendering at this stage lets a team judge proportions, finishes and colorways before anything is tooled.

If you only need the model, 3D product modeling is a separate service at $199 per model. Our production work runs in 3ds Max with Corona and V-Ray and in Blender with Cycles; teams who render in-house will find our page on KeyShot useful.

Industrial design rendering

Industrial designers send CAD at design freeze and use renders for design reviews, crowdfunding pages and launch before tooling is paid for. Industrial rendering at this stage shows a part's real finish, such as bead-blasted aluminium, soft-touch plastic or anodized color, so a review is about the design and not about a gray CAD screenshot. Product design rendering also lets you test three colorways for the price of three images, without making three samples.

What do you need to send us?

Send the CAD file or photos of a sample with its dimensions, plus finishes, color codes and logo files.

  1. Send the CAD file as STEP, OBJ, FBX, Rhino (3DM) or 3ds Max (MAX). Our page on STEP files explains the neutral CAD format most programs can export.
  2. Photograph the product from six sides if there is no CAD, and add its measurements.
  3. List the colors and finishes as Pantone or RAL codes, material samples or reference photos.
  4. Attach logo and label artwork as vector files.
  5. Write the image list: angles, backgrounds, sizes and any marketplace rules.

How do revisions work?

Revisions check the angle and composition on a clay draft first, then color, material and label accuracy on the colored draft, with two rounds included and a further round at $50 per image. Every product render goes through the same checks, in this order:

  1. Approve the clay draft: the angle and framing of each image, before any materials go on.
  2. Check the material draft against your references. We build finishes as PBR materials, which react to light the way the real surface does, so color holds from every angle.
  3. Review the final for labels, reflections, shadows and marketplace sizing.
  4. Approve it and receive every size you asked for.

What file formats do you deliver?

Product images arrive in 4K as JPG and PNG, with layered PSD files on request, spins and animation as 1080p or 4K MP4, and AR models as GLB and USDZ.

Marketplaces set their own rules for main images, and our guide to Amazon image requirements lists them. Put the marketplace in your image list and we crop and size to its rules.

What is 3D product visualization?

3D product visualization is the use of a product's 3D model to make images, spins, animations and AR views, and still product renders are its most familiar form. Product visualization pays off because the model is made once: the same file that renders a packshot can turn in a spin, play in a launch film or sit in a customer's living room. That last use is what our AR product models do, at $129 per product as GLB and USDZ.

Teams that want to render in-house can compare the tools in our review of product rendering software.

What are the three types of product render?

The three product images most stores need are the white-background packshot, the lifestyle image and the detail close-up, with 360 spins and animation as extras. The packshot sells on search and marketplace pages, where every product sits on the same white. The lifestyle image sells the use: the chair in a living room, the kettle on a kitchen counter. The detail close-up answers the questions a buyer would settle by picking the product up, such as stitching, ports and texture.

Props in a lifestyle scene do the job entourage does in an architectural image: they give scale and a story while the product stays the subject.

Questions

Can you match our exact Pantone colors?

We match to the Pantone or RAL codes and material samples you send, and you check the color on the material draft before the final. Screens show color differently, so for print-critical work send a physical sample or a photo of it beside a color card.

Do you sign NDAs before receiving CAD?

Yes. Send your NDA with the brief and we sign it before you share files. Work under an NDA never appears in our portfolio, and you can ask us to leave any work out even without one.

Can we reuse the model for future images?

Yes. New images of a product we have already modeled start from that model, so you order only the new images. You also keep full commercial rights to every image we deliver, with no time or place limit.
